Thank you for visiting the official website of Kid One Transport. We hope that you find our content informative and inspiring and we encourage you to check back often for updates and special announcements. Kid One Transport was founded in 1997 for the purpose of providing children and expectant mothers with access to health care services throughout the state of Alabama. We serve the tens of thousands of children and expectant mothers across our state who are considered transportation disadvantaged. We’ve traveled many miles over the years, but there are many more left to travel. We hope our mission and vision inspire you to join our cause and support the great work of Kid One as we deliver hope and healing to children and families in need.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

5KBR – 2/11/12 – Sign up as a team captain today!


Grab your cape and get ready to run like a superhero at the 2012 5KBR benefiting Kid One Transport


Form a team today! Here's how it works:
1) Let us know you'd like to form a team. Choose a team captain and recruit at least five team members.
2) Choose a Kid One child to run in honor of - we will provide you with their story, picture, and their favorite superhero or character that you can then use as a team theme
3) Raise funds leading up to the event (optional)
4) Show up on race day and go all out to show the spirit of your Kid One child's favorite superhero! What could be more fun than a 5K race full of Spidermans, Batmans, and Tinkerbells?

- Individual awards for top fundraisers and finishers

- Team awards for the largest teams and highest fundraising totals in each category

- Compete for the Team Spirit Award, given to the team that best exhibits their Kid One child's chosen superhero or character. Costumes and accessories are encouraged!

Join the Krewe of Vulcan and Kid One Transport at the Summit Club on Friday, February 17th to celebrate the 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Masquerade in true New Orleans fashion!! Enjoy fantastic skyline city views, beats to dance the night away by Mark AD, cajun cuisine and Bourbon Street cocktails that will transport you to the French Quarter! So, put on that fancy dress or your finest attire (and some beads of course!) and we'll see you at Mardi Gras Masquerade!

Saturday, March 31, 2012 Diamonds For Life Gala – honoring Burr & Forman

Mark your calendars for the 2012 Diamonds For Life Gala, to be held on Saturday, March 31, at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center.  This year’s event will honor Burr & Forman, a longstanding Kid One supporter and a corporate asset to the Birmingham community for more than 100 years.  Guests will enjoy live music, cocktails, a seated dinner, a silent and live auction, and chances to win a beautiful diamond piece from Bromberg’s Jewelers.  Join us for a fabulous evening to honor Burr & Forman and show support for Kid One’s efforts to improve the lives of Alabama’s children and expectant mothers.  Corporate and table sponsorships are available – for more information please contact Mary Anne Colvin at macolvin@kidone.org.

Help Fuel A Healthier Alabama

With your support we can continue to transport children and expectant mothers to the medical care they deserve and need so desperately. Kid One provided 20,268 transports last year to 31, 079 clients. Unfortunately, even at our most efficient, 40% of applicants are currently turned down due to a lack of resources. Help Alabama’s children live longer, healthier, happier lives.
Fuel prices are 35% higher than last year, and they are continuing to rise. Your contribution will have an immediate impact right here in Alabama.
 
A $100 donation provides fuel to transport 20 clients
 
A $500 = Gas for a day = 100 clients served

Alabama Gives Day


One Day... One special opportunity to support local nonprofits!

On February 2nd the Alabama Association of Nonprofits, in partnership with the Alabama Broadcasters Association and the Razoo Foundation, is doing something that's never been done in Alabama. They're taking one day to harness the power of individual contributions statewide, connecting new and existing donors with thousands of Alabama nonprofits.

Please think of Kid One on this very important day.  Check with your company to see if they have a matching donation program... they may match what you give! You can also team up with friends, family, and co-workers to raise money together!
