BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the fourth consecutive year the Birmingham Barons and Dale’s Seasoning teamed up to hit a homerun with the "Pitch One for Kid One" fund-raising promotion. Once again the amount raised exceeded the previous year. This year Dale’s donation is $8,500. Kid One Transport is an innovative program that has served the children of Alabama for twelve years. It is the only nonprofit transportation provider of its kind in the country. Since its beginning in 1997, Kid One has provided more than 160,000 transports and ensures that their children receive the medical care they need. Kid One serves expectant mothers and children with a wide variety of health care needs ranging from routine medical checkups, dental screenings and mental/emotional health services, to critical, specialized care such as radiation, chemotherapy and dialysis.
Alan Seigel, Vice President & Marketing Director of Dale’s Sauces, Inc. said, "We’re proud to be able to help children in need and also we are grateful for the fan support we have received over the past four years. The Barons fans are the real heroes through their participation in this season-long promotion. The money raised from this promotion is living proof that our community is willing to go the extra mile for these kids".
President of Kid One Transport, Karen Peterlin, added, "Dale’s and the Barons have generously opened their hearts and wallets by their sponsorship of the "Pitch One for Kid One" Promotion! For the fourth year in a row the success of their "Pitch One for Kid One" promotion will enable children of this area to receive critically needed transportation. Companies like Dale’s Seasoning and community institutions like the Birmingham Barons are truly making a difference in the lives of children we serve, right here in Alabama. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Barons and Dale’s Seasoning for their caring support".
